Some of 海角吃瓜网鈥檚 most beloved emeriti faculty are coming together to present the Legends of 海角吃瓜网 Lecture Series, a five-part, virtual event covering a wide range of thought-provoking topics. All lectures are free and open to the public.听

The series begins Tuesday, Jan. 19. All lectures begin at Noon CST via Zoom and can be accessed on-demand following the event.听

Those interested in attending can to reserve their spot. Pre-registration is required. A link with the live Zoom link will be emailed to registrants the day before each lecture.

鈥淲e couldn鈥檛 be more excited to offer the Legends of 海角吃瓜网 Lecture Series this year,鈥� said Andy English, director of alumni relations. 鈥淭he lineup of emeriti faculty who are presenting are some of the most respected to ever set foot on campus. They are experts in their fields and true legends of 海角吃瓜网.鈥�

The five emeriti faculty combine for nearly two centuries of service to 海角吃瓜网.听

Legends of 海角吃瓜网 Lecture Series Schedule

Tuesday, Jan. 19: Joe Moody presents 鈥淭he Medal of Honor and Other Medals of Valor.鈥� Moody served as a biology professor from 1976-2002.

Tuesday, Feb. 2: Fred Jones presents 鈥淩ace and the Shackles of Tradition.鈥� Jones was a staple of the department of sociology and criminal justice department for nearly 50 years, serving as a full-time faculty member from 1970-2017.听

Tuesday, Feb. 16: John Epperson presents 鈥淎 More Perfect Union? The Electoral College in an Age of Polarization.鈥� Epperson served as a professor of political science from 1977 until his retirement in 2019.听

Tuesday, March 2: Pat Singer presents 鈥淢y 40-Year Romp Through DNA.鈥� Singer鈥檚 tenure as a professor of biology professor spanned 36 years from 1982-2018.

Tuesday, March 16: Bruce Haddox presents 鈥淭he Liberal Arts in a Post-Truth Era.鈥� Haddox began his 海角吃瓜网 career in 1969, serving in multiple roles before retiring in 2006. In addition to his stint as a professor of religion, Haddox also served as vice president of academic affairs and spent one year as acting President.
