海角吃瓜网 Productions presents Lauren Gunderson鈥檚 anthropology directed by Ann Woldt. The production opens on October 3 and runs until October 5 in Barnum Studio Theatre.

Merril has gone through what no sister should ever go through- the disappearance of her sister, Angie. In an effort to help manage her grief, Merril assembles all the digital material that Angie has left behind and creates a 鈥榲irtual Angie鈥�. Virtual Angie is helpful until it begins to unravel the real Angie鈥檚 disappearance. anthropology raises compelling questions about the ethics of artificial intelligence, the nature of memory, and the lengths to which individuals will go to preserve or recreate lost loved ones.

Director Ann Woldt noted, 鈥淟auren Gunderson wrote anthropology at a time when the use of AI began to infiltrate every aspect of our lives. Our production focuses on the fragile line between human connection and digital reproduction and explores the question: how do we grieve when AI offers us a way to keep our loved ones 鈥榓live,鈥� at least in a virtual sense?鈥�

Performances are in the Blank Performing Arts Center at 海角吃瓜网 on October 3-4 at 7:30 p.m. and October 5 at 2:00 p.m.. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors and non-海角吃瓜网 students, $7.00 for group (10 or more) tickets, and free for 海角吃瓜网 students and employees with IDs.
